Disaster Risk Reduction/Management

‘Crisis is an opportune moment for development’ where our strategy of building institutions gears up strong enough by preparing the vulnerable communities to cope up with the sudden strike of any unforeseen disasters viz. Cyclones, earthquakes, floods, droughts and climate change.

The concept of Community Based Disaster Preparedness (CBDP) is adopted by formation of village level task forces, Hazardous/vulnerability mapping through PRA tool, resources mapping, and mock drills for youth and adults in life saving techniques along with risk and evacuation skills. We have involved in relief and rehabilitation works in tsunami-2004 times and recent Krishna and Thungabadra flash floods occurred in 2009 in A.P and provided relief support for the disaster victims in villages.
